Stove pipe?

Will the 8 inch black stove pipe be ok for my evaporator? Is that what everyone else runs? I am sure I will probably have to replace it every couple years. I am sure I could run the stainless double wallbut that is out of my price range for the evap

I have had 10" galvanized pipe on my 2x6 for about 6 years. Hardware store pipe. I always ran a very hot stack. 1400 degrees. When I dismantled the stack to install the new arch there were a couple sections that were rotted through.

I run 7" on my 2x6. This will be the 5th year I hope to make it through definatly replacing next year

Black pipe is fine if your outside in the open.

Inside pipe installation going through walls and roofs is a different story.
