Has anyone tried the digital grading instrument offered on the internet? I ordered one on the cheap and just got it today. I tested it against my 2014 grading kit and it seems to work flawless. I tested multiple samples at different times and it gave me the same reading as the previous time. I went through my old personal samples from previous years and checked the grade on them and it seems to put some other samples I graded lower into the lighter grade. I think it does this cause it doesn't go by color but the amount of light that passes through it. Has anyone else used one of these? Well I'm going to use it along side of my grading kit this year but if all goes well I will use it exclusively in the future.Jeff

All new grading is done by light transmission not color.

Which "new digital grading" instrument are you speaking of? I just got a Hanna Checker H1759, have not tried it yet. Is that the one you got?

Yes it's the Hanna and it seems to be a great little item. I'm excited about using for real if the weather ever gets right.
