Need help with a valve

My pans are on the same level with a manual valve in between controlling the flow. Is it possible to put a float type valve between the 2. I have a float for the incoming line from the holding tank to the evaporator, but would like to put one between the 2 pans so that valve does not have to be manned when drawing off. Any help would be great.

Not sure why you would need or want to control the flow between them. Let gravity take care of it. As you draw off, more sap is entering the other pan. It all evens out.

Never close the valve between pans with fire in the evaporator. Leave it wide open and use it to keep the pans separate between boils to help maintain you gradient.
