I have an sp22 and an sp11 that both the sight tubes are discolored and hard to see. Can anyone tell me roughly how much oil either one is supposed to hold. Thanks Theron

The sight tube is ordinary milker hose. I use that on my filter press. You can change those so that you can see through them. The level is supposed to be about a 1/2" in the bottom of the sight tube. I don't remember how much oil the SP 22 takes, I have only been adding to mine and not changing it.

My sp-22 takes just over 2 quarts to get as Russ says about a 1/2 inch up the tube

There is a brass plate riveted onto the side of the case and it says something along the lines of 3/8" up in the site tube from the bottom when not running. I have seen many of these name plates painted over. it similar to a serial number plate with 2 rivets. yours may be painted over. I have put as much oil as an inch up in the site tube when settled and never had any problem. As others have said a 1/2 inch up out of that T/drainplug dealy bob and you'll be fine,
