I know we are facing a freeze again here yet this week. However I am still happy I tapped when I did. I have 2 quarts finished and pulled ten gallons yesterday and ten this morning. It ran overnight last night. So today should be a very good day for a small time hobbyist like me. Its just nice to be out and doing something already instead of sitting inside snuggled to the lab under the blanket on the floor.

I agree. I put out 50 taps in one area yesterday. Had 1 gallon in the barrel before I left the woods. Had 10 gallons there by 8 this morning. I will have one more boil on my new setup before the big freeze.

I put in 45 taps on Sunday and had 30 gallons of sap yesterday. I am happy with that. I am planning on tapping all 188 taps this week. I expect the sap to run next week.
