I have a double vertical Lapierre releaser
And an atlas copco pump
Releaser worked fine at 24-25"
Now that the system is tight the regulator that swaps sides gets stuck straight up there for not swapping sides.
Works free with no vacuum on in, put 26" to it and it won't go
Anyone else experience this?
Could this design just not be a good choice for high vac situations?
I have had 2 different double vertical Lapierre releasers. The first one was a continuous vacuum model that worked great at 27.5" but had to be replaced after a heat melt down disaster in the releaser room one week into the season in 2014. The only replacement I could get on that Sunday morning was the vertical double with the spoon type trip lever to change sides. The left side of the double tank would not trip properly and I had continuous problems the remainder of the season. I got rid of that non-working double and bought an electric one.

I would give the releaser a real good cleaning followed by a real good lubing with silicone spray and grease. I have one of these releaserss and once I hit the 26" level it gave me problems also. Lubing all of the pistons and checking all of the o rings will be necessary to make it run smoothly. Take the floats out of the tanks and polish the float rods with a green scrub pad and lube with silicone grease. This is a daily routine for me as with higher vacuum comes more turbulance in the releaser and the sugars get built up on float rods. Wipe out the "T" where the pistons slide with rubbing alcohol and and spray silicone for lube.

I'm thinking that will be my best bet JoeJ. I didn't buy a good pump to have to regulate the vac down to 24-25", that's 10% +\- less sap

It has all new orings and moves freely but I guess it's worth a try

I had a Lapierre double releaser with the piston that slides back and forth. It wouldn't trip on the one side I took it apart and found out that the threads had backed out of the rod. The only way I knew that was there was a clump of the grease on the rod where it had originally been. It worked without flaw after that. Chances are if it is tripping a lot and hard (27.5") that might be your problem.

So I ended up buying a new CDL single vertical from Webbs. They happened to have one in stock
Got it all in and plumbed up and it wouldn't work..... After some choice words too my self and out loud ( I'd have called CDL but no service) I decided to take it apart.
Low and behold on the rod that allows it to dump there was a big glob of what looked like pvc glue but it was red, stuck to the rod not allowing it to move. Long story short I cleaned it off and now is at 27" and running fine.
Brand new and taking it apart......what the hell

Glad you calmed down and figured it out by the time you got ahold of me. Lol. Glad you bought it from us and hope it runs terrible free from now on.
