So just ordered a carlin 102crd burner for 30"x7' build. Was getting ready to build the arch and started second guessing myself. Does anyone know how far the ramp should be from the end of the nozzle? Also the angle of ramp and distance above and below the nozzle? Attached a picture of what I had planned to cut. The red line would be the tube. Any info would be appreciated

Google search oil fired arch recommendations and you will find information from leader and Atkinson maple. Oil fired arches do not typically have a ramp. Also a lot of new ones today are divided into multiple levels and a some of them are reverse fired. You might want to consider something like that.

I am finding very little info on what I should be building. No ramp makes sense, the sizing of the chamber and reverse firing has me baffled. Anyone want to make up a quick sketch and send me a picture? I would really appreciate it!

Sportfreak15,
Check out the link below, start at page 37 for the 102CRD and then page 42, shows the dimensions for the combustion chamber. I spoke with a gentleman who worked with Leader developing their arches. He told me to stop the target wall 18" back from the front off you flue pan, then have about 1" of clearance from the bottom of the flue to the top of the insulation.
Hope this helps.

Great info Cider Hill! Thanks a lot. This is what I have come up with this time if anyone could take a peak for me. Blue lines would be the outside walls that I cut, yellow the bottom of chamber, red is the cone with pink being a straight line to the target wall. Green is the pans (cause what is an arch without pans)
