I have two old membranes, but only need one for my 600RO.
One is a XLE that was used last year but not stored in any kind of preservative. Was washed very well at the end of last year (but not by a dealer).
The second one has not been used in three years, but was professionally cleaned by Lapierre and stored in its PVC storage vessel with preservative since it was cleaned.
I have ordered a new membrane from MES but it won't be here till after I need to process some sap tomorrow.
So my question is, of the older ones, which one should I use?

Eric,
Sounds like a question for Russ. If it was me I would use the professionally cleaned one...just because I never trust just how well I do things. Now go make some syrup:)

The professionally cleaned one should be like new. You didn't say what type of membrane that one is and what the flow was rated at after it was cleaned but that is the one I would use.

I vote professionally clean also especially since it was stored 'wet'.
