3/16 lines into tank suggestions needed

I put my tank in place today for 5 new laterals I ran.
Question is how straight (direct) does the tube need to be where it terminates at the tank?
I'm thinking the vacuum will overcome and twists and loops, but then I think that the vacuum is dependent on the sap running out quickly. I've got a good 10' fall at the end of these runs.

What have the rest of you done? Thanks John12737

Hollow core rope. Slide the tubing into the hollow center and pull it out about a foot or so up the rope. It acts like a Chinese finger trap. Then just find a tree past your tank to secure it to.

Mainline wire between two trees near tank, 3/16 to 3/16 connector clipped onto wire, attach short length of 3/16 into the tank.

I second hollow core rope ! Bascom's 1/4" hollow core rope works well with 3/16" tubing.

Yes , Drilled thru the lid. I chose a drill bit just large enough for a slip fit. I have about 12 inches extending into the tank. Tubing is flex-able enough to unscrew lid without removing tubes. Replacement lids are about 10 bucks should I ever need an un-drilled lid.

I also use the hollow core rope. Your local hardware store should carry it. I also switched all my ends from end loop fittings to rope as well. It works great to tighten up your lines.

This weekend was my first experience using the rope. My grandfather said "Hey that rope idea is the cats a$$".

I guess that means he likes it too.

I hope to like it as much too, I recently ordered a 1000' spool. If I store the spool out of the sun it should last me the rest of my life for maple tubing.
