Today, putting up lines felt exactly like the day I took them down last year - 55 and sunny. It even smells the same out there. Not tapping yet, though. It's the last day of January! This sucks.

What's coming in for you early tappers?

Maybe 30 gallons from 35 taps in 24hr in Natick, pretty good day I think.

100 reds tapped in wilbraham on hillbilly vacuum system. Had 125 gals yesterday. Boiled last night. Another run and I'll be drawing off

I couldn't resist the nice weather, put in 3 taps on 3/16" line yesterday, mostly to get some test time on my new Shurflo pump controller setup. Sap was running well! Now today it is too warm, no freeze last night.... but should run a few days this week.

BTW, my average tapping date is about March 10th.

Thanks for the reports. Long range is showing winter coming back on 2/12 and beyond. Maybe there's hope.
