Question Discharge hose should it be above or below the pump when used on the end of a mainline or does it make any difference?
thanks

I think the only difference is that you'll have some frozen sap in the hose the next morning, but not a problem...

Distance above the pump will reduce the vac capacity below the pump. We talking inches or feet?

distance is to the top of a blue barrel say between 3-4 feet but i can lower the barrel down if it would allow the pump to draw better.
Thanks

anything above the pump causes head pressure

Is head pressure good or bad?
If I can ask the same question in a different way. Will the Shurflow perform better at sucking sap if the rear hose slopes downward or is raising the rear hose better for performance. Performance I mean by creating vacuum and sucking.
That is a question I often wondered.
Thanks.

head pressure hurts you. not really sure on your slope but everything down hill is the best

Thanks Ogdens:
Nice simple answer, what I needed, lol.
I will have my Shurflow discharge hose slope down into my collection tank.
Thanks.
