Started building a new rig today. 6 hours and have the flues cut formed and welded. 115 feet of tig weld. Hopefully have the sides front and back on tomorrow

7 1/2 more hours today. Front and back formed and welded on. Interior welds passivated. Couldn't lift alone after washing so moved on to front pan. Figure I am half way done.

Tacked up the base stack tonight. Enough triangles and you can get from rectangle to circle.

Do you back gas your welds? If so , can you back gas with argon/co2? By the way your work looks great.

Finished up welding the base stack this morning and came out good... I do purge with argon when I can but haven't much on this project. Mostly passivate the welds and back sides with surfox that will come in contact with sap or syrup.

No, think I will for the next one. It is a series of Z shaped pieces and flats welded together. Makes for a lot of welding
