Flue Drain Question

Getting ready to fire up the new 2x6..Will Teflon tape hold up against the heat on flue drain fittings??If not, whats the best thing to use?Thanks in advance!!

Hi quality teflon tape is the proper sealant for the threads. You get far better teflon from a plumbing supply house than from places like Harbor freight.

The important part is the area of the threads that are in contact with each other. So dont worry if there is some exposed afterwards. The tape that is inside the threads will be fine and do it's job
