Anyone thinking of starting? I usually wait until late feb. or early March, but conditions look favorable next week. I have about 2000 to put in on vacuum and might start tapping after work tonight and try to be ready by Saturday or Sunday. Am I jumping the gun?

I'm just a backyarder running about 20 taps. I think I'm going to put out a few this week and see what happens.

Just got home from work and drilled a hole. Did not even get the bit out and had a gusher. Put out 6 taps today. Will see how that goes. May do a few more tomorrow.

I'm over in sinclairville and I'm a little nervous about the season and what February temps are gonna be like. I'm a little behind the eight ball but I'm thinking of tapping trees by next weekend. Couple of guys in cherry creek were tapping today

I'm a little north of you. I will be keeping an eye on the long range forecast and make some sort of decision over the weekend based on that. I remember 5/6 years ago I jumped the gun and tapped the second week of February and all said and done I was VERY glad I did. The best runs I had all season were that first week when daytime temps were mid to upper 30's and nights below freezing. Ran like crazy that week.

Started tapping last night after school. Probably have a couple of hundred spiles in. Some were dripping pretty good when I drilled them. Going to go at it every night this week and forecast looks good for this weekend.

Tickle- Most of my taps are on vacuum using check valves. I am not considering tapping my bucket trees yet. It will take me a long time to get all my trees tapped, but may get a run this weekend. I will wait until later in February to tap for buckets most likely.

I just finished tapping my small sugarbush in Randolph. The extended forecast looks too good to miss out on some sweet stuff!

Well I've collected 60 gallons of sap. Ready for first boil this year. Finishing my temp sugar shack knock down structure consisting of 1 sheet plywood, plastic sheeting
and 4 2x4's to make a 7x7 structure

I grew up in the Niagara area...LaSalle. Didn't really think much maple sugaring occurred in NF. I live on top of Greek Peek Ski Area mountain. Definitely not NF. Have been here 40 yrs. I have a small SB, about 100+ taps that just serves my family and extended family.
