I need to transfer sap from a collection tank to my storage tank which is only about 120 ft away up maybe 5 ft grade. I was thinking of getting a shurflo pump and I have some extra 3/4 inch pex laying around. I should be able to use the pex to pump to the tank right?

Yes, you can use Pex but remember that is has a smaller ID than standard 3/4.

pex 3/4 is a tiny bit larger than maple tubing inside and 1/2 pex is actually 5/8 inside, it will work good.

1/2" Pex is .485 ID and 3/4 Pex is .685 ID and the fittings cut it down to way lower ID inside the fittings. All Pex are smaller ID than size listed.

The best answer is that you can use it because it is rated for potable water. Just use the right fittings to connect it to that pump.

Does Pex have any UV protection ? If not that may be a reason to not use it

Look at the table on this page. Inside diameter of pex is smaller than listed diameter. I used 1/2 pex from my ro to feed tank for years. Worked great. Was smaller than 1/2" inside.

It is a different type of Pex than I have seen in this area or ever used.
