All on buckets. Very very little sap seems to be running.
Question: We are noticing leaking around the base of some of the taps, between the bark and the Grimm tap. I was/am hoping that the bark/wood will expand when wet and seal this up. But maybe not... I know the holes are not pluged.. Any ideas here? Should I hammer these taps in more?

I think give the taps a few more taps with the hammer.

Probably wouldn't hurt to tap them in a bit more. Are all your trees running. I only have like 7 that are actually running at all. I thought today would be great but some are still not running, and they seem to be the healthier ones in my opinion. The temp is about 47 out and sunny. good luck

I put in 103 taps Mon/Tues, trees on field line so they have limited sun exposure. Taps are inconsistant on run amount probably due to sun exposure of trees. Got 1/4 gal per tap on best taps Tues and about 1 gal per tap on best Today. Hoping all the tap start to run with this warm up.

Wasn't able to check my buckets yesterday... But I will collect tonight as I want to store whatever I have before tomorrows big rain.
All in all slower flow than I anticipated...
I got one good run this week from my roadsides- that was it.
18 taps on buckets

Things are cranking down here today. Best run so far. Generally slow before today. I think things have thawed a little. But that might change early next week.
