12469124701247112472Well here we are in another season. Sap is flowing in Central Virginia. I think my first boil will be next weekend. So I built a new barrel evaporator again this year. Some of the features I wanted include a system that's easy to transfer to a new barrel, since they don't last forever. I also wanted AUF, it's hard to get enough air in a barrel to have a raging fire without it. I added a pre-heat pan because last year every time I added cold sap my boil took forever to recover. I also made the base easy to transfer to a new barrel without bolts.00
The last goal was a complete seal where the pans sat in the barrel top. So let me know what you think!
