it looks interesting thats for sure, but from what i read in your link `With a minimal load a set of anodes will last up to 100 hours` seems like a emergency unit. the first thing that comes to mind is that its like adding epson salt to a weak or dead lead acid battery to give it some life again for a short period till the plates are all eaten up from adding salt. in my experience the epson salt trick only works good in the warmer months. interesting find though

Did a little digging.

Several materials could be used for the anode and cathode in a salt water battery.
In order to get the current capacity though, the anode in this unit is probably sacrificial, like carbon.

The first of two pitfalls then is that once the anode is depleted the device will no longer work.
The second is that the salt water needs to be warm for efficiency.
I think those are the two best cases against.

Not very cost effective if you need to put anodes in it daily at 32 bucks! My vac pump with 2.5 hp harbor freight engine only burns 1 gallon of gas every 24 hours, so even when gas was expensive that was only 4 bucks a day!
