El nino 2016

I just viewed a link in the "tapping in CT section here" and it was a news bit interviewing are Delaware farmer sharing concerns about the upcoming sugar season. I wasn't convinced either way. I've also heard this years el nino being compared with 1997's season.

I've only been at this for 7 years and I'm wondering if any of you veterans have records of your 1997 sugaring season?

I'm thinking the lack of rainfall we've had in CT may be a bigger factor
