Lost my dad this week.

I lost my dad on January 3rd. Dad was dealing with health issues for some time. My dad was a retired Pastor and spent the better part of his 82 years loving and serving the Lord. Although I will miss him I am thrilled that he is now in Heaven. Right up till last week he was praying that I would have a great sugaring season. As I tap my trees this year he will be in my thoughts. Dads greatest loves in this world were God, Family, People and his Country. He was a great Christian Man and a proud Veteran. I will miss him lots.

It's amazing that we have the opportunity for that pain to only be temporary! I like the illustration that our life is a pencil dot on the time line of eternity! It will be some reunion when that time comes!

Sorry for your loss, Spud. Your comments about your dad could have been written about mine, although he is a bit younger and still working. I'm sure you've spent your life admiring him and learning from him. May God give you peace in your time of sadness.

My condolences Spud. I agree with others, that he will be in your trees, sap, steam if that is what he loved. My Dad died a few years back, a retired electrical engineer. Somehow I know that he finally got the chance to go chasing those electrons within the circuits. Sense of humor too - I swear we had appliances shut off and lights flicker, I said thanks Dad, I love you too.

Sorry for your loss. My father just passed away two months ago. He was the one who got me into sugaring. It was always his dream to tap the family farm and he kept me company in the sugar house and was the chief quality control officer- (sampled constantly-great thing to do as a diabetic!) Really going to miss him and will probably shed some tears in the sugar house this spring.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost both in-laws this past year and it is never easy. They too were great Christians and I'm comforted in the knowledge that we'll meet again.
