At Verona last night I bought a new, smaller head tank. I've been using an old SS pre-cooler tank at about 200 gal. It apparently was made for spring water to flow in the outer shell to pre-cool (or cool?) the milk. The outer shell was very unsightly and it came with no lids. I got 3 lids made for it, but because of the shape of the top, the lids did not fit very well.
Last night at Verona I spotted a new 150 gal tank with lid and a bottom bung on one end and an inlet bung high on the other end. I bought it and that will look much neater on my elevated platform than the old highly dented one, besides that it is much more compact, while being taller and it came with a lid. It was made by NGMP out of East Syracuse, NY. Nice price too, for the demo unit. The old one will now be used on the ground at the sugarhouse either for my sugarhouse bush taps or maybe just another sap storage tank.
