I am wanting to add a "sight Glass" to my homemade drop flu pan to help monitor sap levels in the pan while boiling. Is there some type of fitting that I can buy that is threaded and will sill if I drill a hole in the pan and then rig either a sight tube to it or a floating bobber type gauge. I have a hard time judging the depth of my sap level in the pan when it is really rolling.

I made this a couple days ago. Threads into a fitting my pan. We'll see if works - haven't tried it yet. Just a couple fittings and some tubing.

Is that clear plastic tubing that you used? That is similar to what I was looking for thanks for sharing.

Yup, sure is. No problem.
