A fellow maple Syrup maker in my area is moving down to Georgia and needed to liquidate everything he had. It was just too good of a deal to pass up so with my wife's permission I went to look at what he had. His home made evaporator really got my interest. He stated it would boil down approx. 13-14 gallons of sap per hour. Even though I didn't need everything he had I did him and myself a favor and purchased it all. Now I have a bunch of stuff I don't really need right now and may just sell some of it. I am already using bag holders so I don't need the 40+ 5 gallon buckets taps & tubing that came with the deal. I will find a way to make use of everything else however. I just need to get my Sugar Shack finished before the sap starts to flow so i have somewhere to use all this stuff.

I always knew I would get one of these, now I have one. Just need to rig up a heater under it and I will be good to go.

One man's loss is another man's gain. That's a nice find!

Any chance of getting the middle pan on there lengthwise and doing away with the smaller one? Either way, she'll make syrup!

Good luck with it.

The previous owner told me he had a hard time keeping a raging boil going in it when turned lengthwise so that is why he turned it. The small pan (it came with 2 of them) is used as a finishing pan. I hope to get it set up and run a test prior to sap season just to see what modifications will be needed to get it working a bit better.
