4th) I needed to get more trees. I have a bunch of reds on my property, but they haven't produced a lot of sap for me. I was able to tap at a friend of mines in 2014 and I got almost 600 gallons from there. That was great, but again I wanted more. Over the past few weeks I have received permission to tap at 2 more locations and a 3rd is in the works. At this point I may have TOO much sap, which I think is never a problem. If that's the case I have connections to help me out with it.

So entering my 4th season of sugaring I started with 5 buckets and a turkey fryer and now have a sugar shack, a real evaporator, and will have approximately 200-250 taps.....

Hoping for a sap Tsunami!!!

I diagnose that you have a classic case of maple mania. It is highly contagious and affects a good number of people, especially those that frequent this group. There is no cure short of moving to a place without maple trees. There is only one way to find relief some from this affliction.....boil lots of sap.
