Anyone have a Black Walnut Bush on 3/16 Natural Vacuum ? Wondering if Black Walnut sap flow responds similar to Maple when taps under vacuum.
I own a farm that is blessed with both Maple and Back Walnut trees. Most Walnut trees are in low lying meadow areas but I do have one hillside that has walnut and a 60 foot elevation change. I just got my 3rd 3/16" line run today and will have 77 taps on those 3 runs. I expect to get full vacuum on about 50 taps and less on remaining nearing the bottom of the hill.

Cornell just did a maple webinar. I recall them saying walnut output didn't increase as much as maple did on vacuum.

I've been doing black walnut for 2 seasons and did run a 3/16 with 17 taps down a roadside with good slope last year . I wasn't impressed but I will say none of the walnuts produced like they did in 2014 so take it for what's it worth. I'll try it again this year hoping for better results.
