Where is the cheapest place to find this stuff and how far does it go. I see that bascoms sells it by the quart. How much will that cover?
Thank You

I have used epoxy paints and the last was POR15. You have to find a dealer. Some NAPA sores sell it but not all. Coverage will vary on the surface texture you have. I had a fuel cell that had a couple of pin holes and it did the job for 4 years running now. Truck bumper it was ok but I should have covered it with another paint to look shinier. It was more than any other paint but seems to do a good job. There was a paint that Kenworth used called Emeron. It was also used on fire trucks as it would not peel in the heat. Our old 81 KW100 had it and it looked great last time I saw it 3 years ago. It is going to be a show truck for the new owner.

Ben,
I sand blasted and painted a dozen or more dump truck boxes in the 90s and used a 2-part self-etching epoxy primer. I think it was made by Sherwin-Williams and sold by an auto parts supplier.
We covered that with DuPont "Centauri" which was a middle-quality enamel auto body paint by DuPont. We also added a "hardener" that was said to be very toxic. I believe it contained cyanide.
DuPonts higher quality paint was called Emron, I believe, and cost significantly more $$.
Some of those boxes still look pretty good.

I bought a quart from Bascom's. I painted the bottom and up the sides about 3-4 inches of a 150 gallon stock tank, and did another 120 gallon stock tank the same way. I had plenty enough to do those two things.

I assume you are looking for food grade epoxy paint for buckets or tanks? Beekeeper suppliers also tend to sell a food grade epoxy. POR 15 definitely is not food grade.

I bought the quart from Bascoms last year and did the bottom and up 6-8" of a 300 gallon galvanized tank and had a lot left over. Probably could have easily done the whole thing. I brushed it on after I wiped it down with thinner. Worked excellent. Just wish it was warmer when I did it.
Betterbee.com has it listed at 16.87 a quart. Its a little different than the stuff that Bascom's sells

not cyanide it Isocyanate. Imron was first used on airplanes then moved from there to everything else. I painted professionally for 6 years. At one point I had my blood checked for isocynate poisoning but all came back good. I wouldn't think any car paint is food grade. Even the grey "food" paint is only good for contact not for sitting or submerged in it for any length of time if I'm correct. This was brought up here before it was all discussed.
