Test run RO with water.

Can I test run the RO with water and not have to clean the membrane after? Just drain the water out of it?

I've asked that question before and some say its really not a problem but others say if you have a high mineral content in your tap water then it might not be a great idea.

It depends. Make sure the water does not contain chlorine. I you use well water or spring water I would store the membrane in the storage solution in case you pick up some biological growth on the membrane during the test. If you use permeate or distilled water you really don't have to do anything other than making sure you keep it wet.
