Thinking of buying a atlas copco pump, with vfd and a moisture trap. Does anybody else have or run one of these? And bad experiences? Good experiences? Also with high vaccum is a mechanical releaser a no no or should it work?

second year coming up with it. I have the smallest one I think, 29" vac and 17cfm works awesome. Electrical usage is nothing compared to our old 1950 1 hp milk pump. We are using a mechanical double seems to work good. one thing I am going to do this year is hook up the sensor on bottom of moisture trap to shut down vac pump if sap is to get that far not just rely on the ball in the trap.
bought mine from MES, customer service is awesome.

I bought a 75cfm Atlas last year. After expanding my tap count, my 35cfm liquid ring couldn't quite keep up if I had any leaks. I am quite impressed with its' performance. I ran 27" pretty much all season and since I work full time, there are always a few little leaks. I have a double mechanical releaser and it worked just fine.

Great pumps. No issues with mechanical releasers.

How many taps are you using that 75 cfm pump for?
