On a steel roof, how do you guys install flashing around a cupola? I'm thinking of tucking it behind cupola siding and just laying it on metal? Steel or aluminum? Woder if a good overhang on the cupola is a good alternative to flashing.. any ideas? Pictures?
Thanks,
Dave

Most of the major metal companies have specialty flashings for the roofing. I forget the names, but "end wall flashing" is one of them. You'll need two different ones. One to go up the sides of the cupola, and one along the bottom. They are different. But yes, they go under the siding and lay on top of the roof. Also keep the siding up off the roof/flashing a little so it doesn't stay wet all the time. I believe I kept an inch or so spacing.
I don't have any good clear shots of the "during" process, just the end result.

Well, here's one of the "during". Hard to see though.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like just flat stock bent to the pitch of roof. On the gable side it bends back down on the roof. I would have to order this piece.

It would be better to consult any commercial roofing contractors so that they can fix it in no time. I used to consult one such contractor from Empire Roofing Corporation.
