sap sight glass indicator

Any ideas on how to build a sap glass indicator in the sugar house at the holding that feed the evaporator ????
either in the tank or in the feed line....I have a 90 gal stock tank as a reservoir...

Larry all you have to do is put a tee off the tank with a clear piece of hose going up and off the end of tee a hose going to your float box.Make sure the clear hose is higher than the tank. jim

next to or behind the clear tube put on old tape measure tape. use a red zip tie to mark the point where you need to not feed the fire any more wood. Yellow for a 30 minute warning, black at the full point and a blue that is loose to move with the level by hand if you need one to mark the level for a quicker view through the steam.

Use colors as you wish of course.

You will want to have something in the end of the hose to keep it clean but allow a small amount of air to pass so you get accurate readings.
