That will add more fertilizer value to the leaf duff. Looks like a red maple leaf.

that lokks like a very big bear, ever more reason to always carry a fire arm in the woods during any season, hunting or not.
we have a bear by our camp I havent seen it personally but some guy that has said it goes 230lbs. I dont know what a 230 bear looks like, but it actually wouldnt be much larger than my fat @#$

I'll bet a 230# bear will look a whole lot bigger than you (with the fur), and it will likely be a faster runner. Do not try to run from one!

I had that larger bear or one of equal size @ 20' Thursday evening while sitting in that shack. Believe me when I say it looked really big at that distance. My friends Smith & Wesson were with me for backup.

I thought bears prefer Charmin over maple leafs? I guess you just can't trust commercials anymore...

You guys need to come to PA to see some big bear. Caught this big male last week scratching on a telephone pole

This guy just does not want to go to sleep. Sure hope he doesn't wake up early next Spring and mess with my bag holders.

My nephew shot a 494 # bear earlier this fall. Took 4 guys working together to drag it out of the woods. When they opened it up it was full of corn. Must have been sitting at the edge of a farmer's field fattening up. I've not had any of it yet, but he says it tastes real good.
Another bear just over 500 # was taken just a few miles away the next week.
Another nephew got a smaller (220 #) bear a few weeks later.

I've never seen a bear in my bush, nor do I want to. Coyotes are bad enough and I've seen them stalking me twice when I was alone. Never saw any when I had others with me.
I have however seen bear scat a few times, once near my sugarhouse and 2-3 times in the blueberries during the season.

We had a bear Roast (from one I had harvested a few years ago) for Christmas dinner and everyone at the table loved it. I always tell folks its like sweet roast beef.
