Wondering if anyone has found any good high temp paint for their arch but with some color. I'm just not a flat black kind of guy. I see rustoleum has 500 degree engine paint in red but I don't think that will last very long. The arch is insulated pretty well in most areas but would really like to know if anyone has anything with higher rating in red or orange.

Thanks

Rustoleum makes a 2000 degree paint in several colors. I'm pretty sure one of them is orange. They have it on ebay.

I Have seen some Red Arch's in the past, seems like I've seen blue ones too, the blue ones may have been oil fired. I like the idea of a little color in the SAP house. I bet my wife would paint mine Pink if I let her.

I know it's black but the black that I like best is from ACE and it's barbeque black. It is 1000 or 1200 degree rated paint and it has a nice sheen without being gloss black. A lot of the other satin's appeared to be more of a flat black which I didn't like. Where my arch is insulated and bricked the paint holds up real well. The door...not so much. I do clean it up after every season though and it gets a coat of paint.

You might want to check out an auto parts store too. Its been a while since I've bought high-temp engine and header paint, but they usually have a small offering of colors in that type paint.

I'd go with Ford blue, but that's just me...lol.

You may be onto something here. For tours my insurance agent suggested butting a red line around the arch and where the canner and press are located so that people know it is hot.

I like the color choices from Rustoleum but I noticed they are all flat colors. I previously painted my arch with the flat black 2000 degree paint and wasn't a fan. I wonder if in a color it would look better. There are satins in the base colors that go up to 1000 or 1200, is that high enough?

The reason the high temp paints are flat is because they are almost purely pigment. The plastics and such that give it luster, flexibility and other attributes are combustible. The lower the temp rating is, the better its appearance will likely be.
