Drilled and installed FOUR taps today (that's 40% of my total bush).

Little to no immediate flow, I thought it would be running hard. After many weeks of sub-freezing temps the weather broke today to 38 degrees. Forecasts show above and below freezing trend to continue thru next week.

Good luck to everyone this year!

My ten-day forecast:
Feb 20-47°/33° Feb 21-45°/28° Feb 22-45°/26° Feb 23-33°/17° Feb 24-38°/22° Feb 25-37°/33° Feb 26-48°/31° Feb 27-47°/31° Feb 28-41°/28° Mar 1-45°/31°

Cool stuff MPM. Good luck to you this year.

Yes, I'm in NYC and this is my 6th year mapling. I usually make just enough for my personal use -- about a gallon -- but I do have over a quart of syrup left over from last year. Great stuff too!

Are you getting any activity out of your taps this week? I have a very slow trickle here, but we're off and "running."

Awesome, How much syrup do you make a year? i have been getting some awesome flow from some trees, others not so much. Most are still very slow.

Well, it finally warmed up a bit in the last few days and I got a run. I drilled two more taps. Harvested some sap today -- finally.

Off and running...heh!

Got a run today after getting 6-8 inches of snow 4 days ago. This is one strange year.

Also, I think some of my trees already have small buds. I guess I'm gonna have some weird tasting syrup.
