Maybe i am missing something here... In the leader catalog they have roof jacks for smoke pipe.. One of them has a crimp on the pipe and looks like single wall pipe attaches directly to it.. The other one looks more like a regular chimney flashing pipe. How do these roof jacks differe from regular woodstove flashing installs you would do on your house? The one with the crimp seems the pipe would attach but that whole jack has to get blazing hot so this cant be..

Anyone have a picture from the underside of this? curious as to how much room i need to have for the cupola and smoke stack. Interested in what the difference between a commerical flashing peice for chimney pipe and a "maple smoke jack" are. Thanks in advance

I can't say for sure how a Leader roof jack is made or used, U had my Jack made by a local tin Smith and it was 100.00$ for a 12" Galvanized. With collar. You can save alot if you can find someone local. I have about 10" to combustibles , I also wrapped my smoke pipe with ceramic blanket where it goes through the roof.. Hope that's helpful.

so if i have 8 inch single wall smoke pipe, i would buy a 8 inch roof jack? Or do i need to buy a 10 inch jack to create a air space? it mind boggles me how the jack doesnt get so hot touching single wall pipe and cause issues with the roof line.

A 8" roof jack should be about 10" diameter giving you a 2" roughly air space, that's what the collar is for.the collar will fit Tight around 8" pipe. This is for a regular Jack. I would call who ever you intend to order from & ask them.
