I have been trying to figure out how much my tank weights. I want to tow it to my sugar house 80 miles away but I do not want to borrow someones truck. My truck can handle towing about a 4500lb payload at best. The tank is a 2000 gallon horizontal insulated stainless inside carbon steel outside Cherry Burrell milk vacuum tank from the 1960's. It is more or less an 8 foot diameter cylinder 8 feet long. It's at a friends place so those aren't exact measurements but close. My friend thinks it weights over 5000lbs. I think its not over 4500lbs . I suppose I could just load it up an see how it drives but if anyone just new off the top of there head it would be helpful.
Thanks Luke

Do you know anyone who installs tanks?
Do you know anyone who scraps these kinds of tanks?
These folks might know, or could look up the empty weight.
Could you lift one end at a time, and get a scale under there and weigh each end?
