I am wondering if anyone out there is smarter than me at interpreting the vacuum ratings on pumps. They all seem to be in torr but I am having trouble understanding just what that is and how it is convertible to inHg. Any help and explanations would be greatly appreciated

A Torr is approximately the same as a mm of Hg so to convert Torr to inches of Hg you multiply the number of Torr by 0.0394. Standard atmospheric pressure is 760 mm of Hg so if you multiple that by .0394 you should get 29.9 inches of Hg. Hope this helps.
