So im thinking of getting rid of my 3 milk tanks and do a little reconfiguring at the sugarhouse . I have a 1600,1200,and a 700 gallon . The two bigger ones r mueller tanks with the manhole top the smaller is the gull wing style. My question is what is going price to sell these ? Heard a few different opinions just wanna hear a few more.

Lately, stainless tanks have been selling online between $.50 and $.75 a gallon.

the round ones (manhole access) to me are a little less desirable, as they are a little harder to access for cleaning. $1 a gallon is ballpark. gullwing flat top tanks are more desireable, $1.25 per gallon...

I have picked up several tanks in the past year and the price in my area is usually associated to scrap price.
Yesterday brought home a 400 G Delaval for $250. On wed mad offer on a two flat tops of $1 G and guy accepted it and asked me to take all 300' of 1.5" stainless with them.
I am looking for the larger tanks you have.

You really got a deal with the guy thtrowing in the stainless pipe, put it out back and it will be some retirement $$$$ someday. Question, my uncle has a 1500 ish gallon cheese vat, something around 5 x 20 feet long. Its not in great shape, there is dips in the bottom with a 2" crack in the stainless near the center bottom. Its got a big old 3" - 4" cast aluminum valve that also leaks. It is stainless inside with a rusty steel shell outside. My uncle used it as a watering tank for cattle, but has since retired. I have it sitting in my yard, what is it worth?

I have the tools to put the ferrules on the stainless for triclover ends so I hook tanks up with it.
Unprepared stainless is running $0.34/# in my area and dirty aluminum is running $.12/# clean is $.51.
Copper is where the $$$ is tops out at $2.47 and copper wire 55% is at $1/#
The tin on the tank is running $147/ton.
Most people don't realize how light milk tanks are. I weight a 400 ice box style tank only and it was only 470$ with lids.
