Does anyone have a source for true quart size glass jugs: round, shouldered down to a neck, with w finger ring? I have had no luck finding them.
I am not interested in metric sizes.
Thanks,
Mark

A liter glass jug holds just about a quart when hot packed as a liter is like 33 oz instead of 32 like in a quart

Thanks. I know it's ABOUT the same but it's not THE SAME. I am being stubborn. I really want to sell syrup in containers that have no reference or relationship to the metric system. I'm just a contrary old curmudgeon.

Do a search for "Specialty Bottle". They've got just about every kind of glass in both measuring systems.

No luck there. The closest thing I can find is a Boston Round, which Vermont Artisan Printing also has. Would be nice to have the finger ring on a bottle that size though.
Thanks,
Mark

The reality is the rest of the world, especially Canada where the majority of the world's maple syrup is produced, uses the metric system. Unless you can find a US producer of the Gallone glass jug, which is what you want, you may just have to adapt. Or, stick with mason jars.

GS,
You are absolutely right.
It just seems to me that there should be enough of a "contrarian" market of old farts like me here in the states to make it worth someone's while to still make those "gallone" quarts. However I could well be wrong.

The irony is that they are a Canadian band...

Cape Bottle Co http://store.netbottle.com has 1/2 and full gallons jugs. They might be able to get quarts from their supplier. Customer service was very helpful when I called last year as a newbie trying to find bottles and caps.
