Hi all, I'm looking for some recommendations for what oil gun and size I should be looking at. I'm looking to put oil to my 3x8. Going to retro fit it with a plate where the doors are now. Any help or further recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 3X8 and I use a Beckett oil burner with a 6gph nozzle. My pans are Leader and I built my arch.

With roughly 480,000 btu hr (6 gal) What is the gph rate of sap evaporation?

I m 13 inches under my pans. My evaporator is different my oil gun is under my flue pan. Just remember oil heat heats by radiant heat. I would close up your fire box and insulate it. good luck. Lee

Before I put the Steamaway on the evaporator around 80 gals. per hour and then with the Steamaway 143 -145 gals. per hour. This was measured with a 1" water meter on the feed line over the course of the season. By mid season the rate had dropped to 138 gals. per hour and after cleaning the Steamaway it was back to the higher figures.
