hey I've had a few requests now to filter syrup thru my press for people. What does one charge for this (as I've never done it before)? I'm just looking for some ideas for this as well as what you might charge to bottle syrup for customers.
Thanks!

Gas to reheat, use of press, filter aid, papers, use of bottler, electricity, and lastly time. I have done it as favors for a few friends but would charge $3-4/gallon or since I'm set up to go 15 gallons at a time I would do a flat charge for anything up to that amount since it would take the same time to do 1-15 gallons. If someone wants to sell bulk I believe more than that would be subtracted if it were not filtered.

I am having difficulty filtering syrup with my filter press. Should I use more DE? Also will using fewer plates than maximum make it easier to filter?
