Like the title says how much syrup did you make and how was the color? I made 10.5 gallons off of 140 taps darker than normal but still a wonderful taste

We ended the year with 30 gallons of dark(robust)whatever color-flavor nonsense of the moment on 430 taps. So icy, snow and freezing cold and damage in the woods. Just no way to take care of it all. Paid our "saviors" they know who they are with sap. Not nearly enough for what they did. just the way things go. Ron loves this so much that it's worth all the grief. Especially since he was so sick and I didn't know if he'ld make it out of the hospital. So we're ok. Cleaned up and still waiting for a buyer.

We ended with roughly 40 gallons from 80 taps - all of our trees are within 100 yards of a major body of water! We think this is why our yields are so high, although we have never measured sap percentage - our daily sap gathering was between 50-150 gallons.

I made 21 gallons and sold enough sap to make 3 more (unable to keep up at one point). I had all medium with one batch of dark and one of very dark at the end. I got 0.3 gallons per tap. I lucked out with good sugar content.

13.5 gals, mostly dark and very dark. Lost 230 gal sap to spoilage. I just couldn't get to it fast enough when we had warm weather several days in a row. Flavor was very good on all batches.

This is the most I've every made. I was looking to increase production this year, and certainly did so. We shall see about next year.

We made 100 gal from 240 taps. Made a lot of light this year, probably because we went to all tubing.

3 gallons on 35 taps. Good enough for a first year that was shortened by the winter and birth of sap hauler #2

25.75 gallons on 59 taps. A buddy gave me 60 gallons when he couldn't keep up too, so that accounts for a gallon and a half of it or so. Most the syrup was the lighter side of medium then at the end I made a couple gallons the darker side of medium. I am very happy with what the trees give me and I thank them at the end of every season. :)

14.5 gallons here from about 108 taps. Less per tap than last 2 years for me but I tapped more trees and got what I was hoping for. A little darker than in the past but still great. Thankful for what we got.

bassman,

Impressive total from 59 taps plus some outside sap.

I am grateful, in the nature of things, that the trees so generously share their life blood with those of us wandering the woods with drills, taps and tubing. This makes me feel a part of the earth upon which I tread, and sustained by the life all around me. It's now on to ramps and mushrooms!

10 gallons from 49 taps.
I think I could have squeezed out a couple more, but it was my first rodeo & kind of learned on the fly.

Made 58G with 115 taps. It was a slow start sweetening pans this year - it took more than a few warm days to break this winter's freeze.

7 gallons from 60 sluggish taps -- need to clear out the competition trees to get some sun/warmth on the maples!

24 gallons off 140 taps. mostly medium amber, though the first couple gallons were dark. Good sugar content this year. Odd runs, though.
