We lost mom tonight

Until Nov. last year mom lived alone at home and only needed someone for a couple of hours to help her get up and going each morning. Then she had a problem breathing that came on suddenly. She ended up in the hospital for 4 days and was then sent to out Extended Care Facility (ECF) for rehab. Thet was to be for a max. of 3 weeks.
Before the 3 weeks she told us she wanted to stay there and not return home, so I made the arrangements. Until her 94th birthday on Feb. 28 she seemed to be doing ok, but was losing weight steadily. Since about 4 weeks ago, she was in steady decline. Today she went to be with the Lord.

Mom was a 50 yr. cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in her mid 40's, then she got some spots of skin cancer a few times over the years, each time they were removed. In the end, she did not die of cancer, it was simply time for the Lord to receive her into His Kingdom.

i feel very fortunate that my mom and brother have been very involved in our maple operation this year. Mom has ben chief bottler and filter press technician. at 76 years old, she may not be as quick to get some projects done, but sometimes that is a good thing...
