Just in the process of shutting down and cleaning up. I bought some RO membrane preservative I was thinking I would just remove membrane housing with membrane still in, fill it with the appropriate permeate/preservative mixture, put plugs in the ports and store it in the basement. Should this be fine?

I am following this also.
I saved a few gallons of permeate for storage.

A question to add here, since my membranes are still in the SS vessels I can not verify it but will 4" membranes fit inside 4" sch40 PVC pipe?
I want to make a storage vessel for each membrane with a cap on one end and screw on plug on the other.

Yes they fit well. I stored my with the preservative from cdl last year worked well. This year I'm send the membranes out to be cleaned then will store the same way

So to answer my question......can I store my membrane in the membrane housing?

With my Deer Run, Ray recommends it be left in RO with perservative in it.

All, if not most of the "early" RO's had the membranes in them year round. My 1991 Airablo has capped fittings in the pressure vessel end plugs for adding the preservative. Or as another producer calls it- "pickling em'"! Lol.

Perfect, that's exactly what I did. Thanks
