I just got 3 half gallon plastic jugs, for shipping to customers. I usually just do glass jars. I have a Hobart commercial sanitizer.
Can I sanitize in the Hobart without them melting?
Any help is appreciated
Happy sugaring!

I would just rinse them with hot water, when you fill them at 185-190 that will sterilize them . I doubt most folks even rinse them out. I will only rinse one if it looks dusty , the ones I buy are shipped upside down and are pretty clean

If you are talking about 1/2 gal container made for syrup, you don't need to do anything as long as you have not had bugs dirt etc. get into them. Just add your syrup and seal it. In my situation I by jugs by the case and keep them sealed and in the box so they are always ready to go. But if I was buying only a few as long as when you get them put them in a plastic bag and seal it with a twisty etc. you will be all set
