I have about 100 taps on a 500' 3/4 line. The slope is away from my sugarhouse, so I have two sap ladders pushing it up about 25' total. both sections of mainline after the ladders are about 250' long each.
In the morning my pump is really struggling to get the sap to the tank, mostly because the stars and mainline all full. Once I get some air I to the lines the whole system really takes off. Should I be attaching a dry line to the first ladder? Or should I simply be running the vac longer so nothing accumulates in the lines?
Lastly, I have a bleeder valve at the very end of the line, should I also(or instead) have a bleeder right before the first ladder?
