We have set several thousand LaPierre 1/4" adapters and stubbies this year and have had nothing but trouble with them. This is the design where the clear adapter fits inside the stubby. The adapters separate from the stubby, and they will not stay set in the tree. We have visited some trees 3 or 4 times just to reset the taps. Anyone else having trouble with these? Looking for ideas to solve the problem... thanks!

Not the specific issue you mention but we have seen that stubbies will sometimes separate during a freeze up, (10 degrees or below) at the rate of a handful per 1,000.

probably not the same of you also, but purchased lapierre zml stubbies, and were advertised as a universal stubby, but fit very loosely in a cv adapter. had to go through and replace all check valve adapters with the clear seasonal adapter lapierre offers

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a Universal Stubby. Due to the varying sizes and geometries of the spouts offered, it is not possible.
