I went from 800 buckets to 500 on vacuum line. I just want to know if I will produce more with 500 on vacuum then 800 buckets. I don't know if its just this year has been cold but I have a lot more syrup last year at this time then I did this year. I know my woods are colder than most. It seams like everyone else is having a good year except me...

It will depend largely upon the installation and how good your vacuum level is at the tap, however you should be able to achieve at least double the amount of sap per tap with vacuum over gravity collection.

I don't think anyone in northern NY or northern New England is doing particularly well yet....it has been too cold. If your bush is normally cold, then you'd be even slower than normal. We're under 1/10th of a crop so far in Underhill Ctr., VT. The season has really just begun.
