I have Sm Brothers 2x8 evaporator rated at 40 gph and wonder what size, brand of RO unit I would need.
Hmm well I actually might add more as I discovered the allure of 3/16" natural gravity and I could tap the gully below me and collect and pump up to the syrup camp. So I wold not like to upgrade the evaporator but rather RO or other?[/I]

Minimum of 250 gph and 500 gph would be better. I have 970 taps and 2x8 evaporator with steamaway and 500 gph RO is not too big for me.

A 600 would be great for you

I'm running high vac on 800 taps this year and have a 600. Some days its too big some days its great. I've got the ability to expand now without being overwhelmed.

I'm running 1300 taps and I have a 250, plus I buy sap. It works, but a bigger RO sure would be good. I would like a 500 or 600 GPH unit. I likely won't be growing above 1500-1600 taps max.

Everybody is thinking like I do. I recommend a 600 too.
