i am in the process of getting materials together to build a two handed tubing tool . i need to know what size couplers to get for 3/16 and what size to get for 5/16 line. i am planning to build one for each size.

I just installed some 3/16 from D&G flex and it was not bad pushing fittings together, just what I thought!

If you cut a small piece of 5/16 tubing lengthwise, it slides right over the 3/16 and grabs quite well.
No need to add the extra weight for the other two couplers.

I used a coupler for a 1/2" rod, drilled out a little of the threads on the inside where the fitting will go in, take off the sharp edges, then cut it in half. This was made for 5/16 tubing and fittings, and when I work with 3/16, put a little masking tape on the threads inside and adjust the vise grips, and it works for 3/16 too.

3/8 coupling nuts. After cutting them you will need to grind them a little so they clamp a little tighter.
