Had this come on my email thought I would pass it along, interesting that Mother earth news shows how to make sugar on snow !!

if you need snow come to central New York. They got right around 7 feet of it or more. Real good top garde stuff.

They can keep it!!! I like cold but nonsnowy southern NY!! Parts of western NY have 4 ft. They can keep that too.

We call what they are calling Jack Wax, leather aprons. In the maple world it is most comonly known as sugar on snow.

We call it taffy on snow if still plyable, and maple candy if it's cooked hard enough to crack.

Around here we call it wax on snow.
